In Modern times we no longer have kings, queens and rules that actively rule and govern like that in Biblical times. We currently live in a democracy, and often we approach the kingdom of God like the Democracy of God. We basically say to God “Ok, so if have an impressive list of things that you can do for me and I can just continue to live my life the same way, I will be a follower of you until something happens that I don’t like or it gets hard.”
In order to fully understand and live daily in the Kingdom, you need a governor, and that is exactly what The Holy Spirit does for you. In John 14:16-17 it says “16And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever. 17The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17 Amplified Version).
Now the problem with this is, this is not kingdom. Week in and week out Christians go to the front for an altar call or a prayer of repentance but unless you allow the Kingdom to fully operate in and through you and allow the Holy Spirit to be your governor, I’m very sad to tell you but you will never change. If He (Jesus) is not Lord of All, He is not Lord at all. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour it is time to accept that He has already forgiven you of all past, present and future sins and start embarking on this new journey with God.
We read in John 20:22 “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” And in Matthew 27:50 “50Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit.”The Holy Spirit can be seen here very clearly that He is a full member of the Holy Trinity, very powerful and wise and He is God living in and through us.
